Scope

The topic of this small workshop is the role of turbulence in cloud microphysics, in particular its effect on the size distribution of cloud droplets, and on the dynamics and growth of ice crystals in cold clouds, as well as their impact on precipitation. The participants study these questions using different methods: lab experiments, in situ observations, computer simulations, and theory.

The workshop takes place at the Schneefernerhaus, a research station at 2650m altitude on the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain near Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Travel. We booked rooms at the Schneefernerhaus on the Zugspitze for April 10-12. On April 10 we take the train at 10:15 in the morning from Garmisch Partenkirchen to the Zugspitzplatt, where we plan to have lunch. After lunch we continue to the Schneefernerhaus. Please note that you must book your own hotel room in Garmisch Partenkirchen for the night April 9/10.
